On The People at #visualbasic and Why They Deserve to Die
I am an amateur programmer. I like to program computer programs. That is what an amateur programmer is. You may recognise this introductory sentence from the "Tech Support" one in the archives. Well, it's the same sort of issue.
My dad bought Visual Basic 6 a while back. I got into it about four weeks ago. By this time, the CD was a bit buggered. The program works fine, but the help files, unfortunately, do not. I can't get a replacement - see Tech Support once more.
I'm trying to build my own ActiveX component - don't worry if you don't understand what I'm talking about, it's technical. One thing I don't know - can't check the help files so I log on to mIRC and see if I can get any help at #visualbasic. This is what happened.
me (username withheld): How does one set default values for the properties of a custom ActiveX control?
justin123: The help files know that very well.
meekys: Yeah. Hahaha.
me: Something's wrong with my help files. Can you just answer my question please?
justin123: Hahaha.
meekys: You should get some replacements.
By this time I'm thinking - is it REALLY that hard to just tell me how to do it, rather than pay me out? Jeez. justin123 and meekys continued to laugh at my help-deprived "humorous" situation until I logged off.
So, a personal request from me to you. If you ever see justin123 or meekys on mIRC, or anywhere, for that matter, go up to them, slap them, and tell them to get off their horse and screw themselves.
